Three Guys From Miami: Miami/Little Havana Travel, Miami Restaurants, Cuban Culture and Food
Glenn Lindgren: the Redland District is a section of Dade County locate down near Homestead Florida. A trip to Homestead and the Redland area makes a great day trip from Miami.

Raúl Musibay: Here you'll find several interesting sites worth a visit, from a tropical fruit winery, to a historic village, to an orchid ranch.

Jorge Castillo: Once you get to Homestead and nearby Florida City, you'll discover Mexican restaurants, a huge Mexican flea market, and the Landmark Hotel.

Homestead, Florida City, and the Redland District

The historic Landmark Hotel in Homestead is on the National Register of Historic Places and began its life as a movie theater in Miami. For many years it was called the Seminole Cafe and Hotel.

For the best selection of tropical and exotic fruits, no trip to the Homestead/Florida City area would be complete without a trip to Robert is Here. Robert has been here for about 40 years and is a popular spot for people going to Everglads National Park.

R. F. Orchids

If you'd like to bring home a beautiful orchid, there is no better place to stop then R. F. Orchids. You can enjoy all the greenery outside, but once you step inside you're going to see more beautiful orchids that you've probably ever seen in one place before.

Schnebly Redland's Winery

Schnebly Redland's Winery specializes in tropical fruit wines. The winery is a natural extension of their tropical fruit distribution business. Blemished fruit that can't be sold directly to consumers is juiced and made into fine wine.

Cauley Square Historic Railroad Village

You can drive by Cauley Square and never realize that there is a beautiful shady park in among all of the trees. The square is built around a flat-iron building constructed by millionaire tomato farmer, William H. Cauley. It's a fun stop for the shoppers in your group. You get a taste of an old Florida community, now converted into a garden-like shopping area.

Casita Tejas Mexican Restaurant

We never make a trip to Homestead without stopping at Casita Tejas, a quaint family-owned Mexican restaurant in the heart of "downtown." There are a few good Mexican restaurant in the area, but this one is our favorite.

Coral Castle

What more could you ask for? Here you'll find the story of tons of coral blocks, an unsolved mystery, and a jilted lover with plenty of time on his hands. The Coral Castle remains one of Florida's funky roadside attractions. Aficionados of classic American oddball attractions won't want to miss this historic gem.
